Learning to play the piano with true ease and artistry is a personal journey — and every student’s story is unique.

Here, some of my students share their experiences: how working together has helped them build a reliable technique, overcome challenges, and reconnect with the joy of music.

I am deeply grateful for their trust and honored to be part of their musical growth.

Samuel Balo | Jazz pianist, Composer| Budapest, Hungary

I’ve never received a grounded answer to the question: What’s happening to my skills at the piano? How is it possible that one day I feel great and can play with ease and fluency, while on other days — even weeks — it just feels terrible? It was driving me mad.

Over time, I discovered some truths. I searched here and there, but I was also thinking a lot of inaccurate — even completely wrong — thoughts. During one particularly frustrating period, I decided to try the Taubman approach. I had come across it earlier while searching online for answers. Soon, I was directed to Jin, whom I’ve been working with ever since.

I’m still amazed at how he can spot things over a video call and make my playing more comfortable and effortless just by saying a few things. I’m so grateful to be working with such a conscientious, reliable, flexible and kind teacher.

For the first time, I feel like someone actually has a system — a working system — rather than just vague ideas or obscure images about piano playing. It’s kind of crazy that with most other instruments, the early years are focused on learning how to make a sound. With piano — which is both easy and hard at the same time — you can produce sound right away. But are you doing it in a way that, when you’re playing more complicated pieces a few years down the line, you’ll be able to do it with ease and without pain? Will you have a reliable technique, or will things keep changing and drive you crazy?

I wish I had started learning piano with Jin from the beginning — then there wouldn’t be so many things to unlearn and correct now!

I've been taking lessons with Jin for over a year. Every lesson with him has been an eye opener in terms of understanding healthy and efficient technique. Even though we only have half an hour lessons, Jin is always very precise and clear in his explanations, which have been a huge help in my career as a pianist.

Jin Jeon is a passionate and masterfully skilled teacher. He strives for excellence and his lessons are full of joy.

What I love about the Taubman approach is that it gives you a very clear methodology for practicing technique and it’s focus on quality over quantity to me makes it a spiritual practice.

Alexander B. | Student, Piano Major | Karlsruhe, Germany

Jin prepared me exceptionally well for my piano entrance exam. Rather than simply passing on knowledge, his teaching style inspires creativity and a genuine desire to grow. His lessons helped me release tension in my playing and opened up space for artistic expression — which I found deeply motivating. If you're looking to challenge yourself and develop further, Jin is the right teacher for you."

Niklas H. | Organist & Pianist  | Landau/Mainz, Germany

With Jin, piano is not played just with the hands — it involves the whole body. He pays close attention to the coordination of the hands, wrists, forearms, upper arms, and shoulders, which gave me a completely new perspective on playing the piano, without ever feeling overwhelming.

He works very individually with his students and enjoys engaging in conversations about interpretation and musical expression. He’s genuinely interested in the student’s own artistic ideas.

I can highly recommend Jin’s teaching. He offers an excellent technical foundation, sharpens awareness of sound and touch, and has a great sense for each student’s ability and needs.

Mats | Amateur Pianist  | Hamburg, Germany

Lessons with Jin are incredibly efficient. In a short amount of time, I gained a completely new understanding of how to play the piano with more ease. I can recommend the Taubman Approach to anyone dealing with pain while playing — or even just negative emotions related to the instrument. Jin helped me rework and improve my previous technique in a very focused and effective way.

Paul | Amateur Pianist  | Leipzig, Germany

What I particularly appreciate about Jin’s lessons is the welcoming atmosphere where you immediately feel at ease. He’s a kind and understanding teacher who creates a relaxed learning environment.

Instead of practicing finger exercises mechanically, Jin offers clear, practical solutions to each technical challenge. He works through difficulties together with me until things truly click. Even when I struggle to implement something right away, he always finds a different way to explain it until it makes sense.

Before starting lessons with Jin, I often felt tension at the piano — sometimes even pain. He addresses these issues directly in his teaching. It’s truly impressive how effortless movements can feel with his guidance, and how lightly the keys respond when certain details are in place.

I highly recommend studying with Jin. The precise attention to movement and body awareness was something I had always missed in previous lessons. That’s why it quickly became clear to me that the long trip from Leipzig to study with him was absolutely worth it.

Laura | Concert Pianist  | Zürich, Swiss

Studying with Jin Jeon was a true stroke of luck for me. After trying many different approaches to play the piano pain-free, Jin showed me an excellent solution, tailored specifically to my situation. The Taubman Approach not only eliminated my pain but also greatly improved my overall technique.

Andrea |  Amateur Pianist  | Cambridge, UK

I very much enjoy my piano lessons with such a highly talented musician and Taubman Approach exponent as Jin.

Jin is very easy to get on with, which creates a very pleasant tutor-student relationship and a very positive atmosphere during the lessons. I like his very thorough approach on all aspects of piano playing. There is no technical or musical problem I may come across that Jin cannot solve. His teaching is enabling me to make fast progress through the ABRSM grades. The Taubman Approach also plays a major role in my progression. This scientific approach was an easy choice for me as soon as I read about it. Its natural arm/hand/finger movements prevent injury, maximise efficiency and effectiveness in piano playing.

Listening to Jin and watching him as he plays is simply inspirational. I highly recommend Jin and also the Taubman Approach!

Naomi B. | Amateur Pianist  | Darmstadt, Germany

“I’m very happy with my piano lessons. I’ve been studying with Jin for about eight years now. What I appreciate most is the flexibility and how each lesson is tailored to me individually.

Since working with Jin, I’ve made significant technical progress and improved my playing overall. Due to my job, I can’t always practice as much as I’d like, but Jin always takes the time to help me work through my challenges — and I really value that.

Learning with him is a lot of fun, and I can absolutely recommend his teaching!”

Franz B. | Organist & Pianist  | Frankfurt, Germany

I am currently studying at the HfMDK Frankfurt and have been playing the piano for over 20 years. I’ve been taking lessons with Jin for about four years now. His technical approach has helped me gain a completely new understanding of piano technique and significantly improve my playing.

Jin places great importance not only on technique, but also on sound. Through him, I’ve learned to shape my tone more consciously, which has greatly enhanced my musical expression. He also works on a consistently high artistic level.

The lesson atmosphere is always focused, yet pleasant and motivating. Both musically and personally, he is outstanding — his teaching has been a true enrichment to me and my piano playing
